SYMPTOMS

Can SSO be configured between Plesk and some third party software?

Any attempt doing this leads to the following errors:

Wrong registration information returned by Identity Provider

Can not request registration in Identity Provider: 10060:A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

SSO Server is not specified.

Answer

SSO connection attempt fails because there is no response from any software which SSO tried to connect. SSO is intended to provide interactions between Parallels products only, for instance, between Plesk and Sitebuilder; it is not designed to provide authentication with third-party applications

Single sign-on feature (SSO) allows switching among different Parallels products without the need to specify a user name and password. It is implemented by using Global Account. If you have several accounts in Plesk, you can connect them all to a global account and switch between these accounts without entering a password every time. You can also connect all your accounts in other Parallels products to your global account and switch between them without providing credentials. You can find more about single sign-on feature in Plesk 8.3 docimentation.
