SYMPTOMS

Is it possible to backup/restore VEs from Virtuozzo 3.5.1 to Parallels Virtuozzo containers 4.0 and vice versa?

Answer

The only functionality which is supported in Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 is ability to restore backup from Virtuozzo 3.5.1 node to Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 node. Restored VE(Container) will be upgraded to 4.0 version.

Note: It is necessary to run Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 in compatibility mode.

Restore from 4.0 to 3.51, backup from 3.5.1 to 4.0 and vice versa are not supported by design.
