'vzkeyupdate' fails with error message: 'Found duplicate HWID - update not possible'.

SYMPTOMS

Trying to obtain Virtuozzo license from SWsoft Key Administrator (KA) server I see the following error message:
# vzkeyupdate -n

Send license request, attempt #1 ...
Found duplicate HWID - update not possible. Please contact SWsoft to update your license.
Will retry after 600 sec

CAUSE

The possible reason of problem is that Virtuozzo server has more than one HWID and SWsoft KA server has more than one license for some of server's HWIDs.

RESOLUTION

1) Get list of Virtuozzo server HWIDs, the command below will show them:
# cat /proc/vz/hwid

2) Find all licenses for all HWIDs in SWsoft KA server
3) Terminate all BUT ONE licenses, preferably keep the license with the very first HWID from the server (the very first string listed by the command above)
4) Run 'vzkeyupdate -n' again
