Symptoms

Windows media player is installed successfully inside a VE. However when it is run , the following errors could be displayed:

The file wmp.dll has a version number of 10.0.0.3709  where 10.0.0.3700 was expected.
Windows Media player is not installed properly  and must be reinstalled.

or

The file wmp.dll has a version number of 10.0.0.3997 where 10.0.0.3998 was expected.
Windows Media player is not installed properly  and must be reinstalled.

Cause

The reasons of such behavior could be the following:

 - Windows media player doesn't work inside VE if KB936782 installed directly inside VE.

 - Windows Media Player doesn't work inside VEs in case KB936782 is installed before Virtuozzo installation.

Resolution

This issue was fixed in Virtuozzo update 35154. Please run Virtuozzo Update Wizard and install Virtuozzo updates up to VZU35154
