[RHEL 5.1] FTP users with encrypted passwords get the following error during login via FTP: "pam: unable to connect to plesk database".

Symptoms

Domain FTP user with encrypted password cannot login via FTP if selinux is enabled on the RHEL 5.1 operating system.


Resolution

This issue will be fixed in Plesk 8.3. In Plesk 8.2.1 the following command should be run to allow this type of authorization for ProFTPD:
setsebool -P ftpd_disable_trans 1
