-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Synopsis: New Virtuozzo 3.0.0 tools update provides fixes related to
Virtual Environments networking and package management
functionality
Issue date: 2007-11-09
Product: Virtuozzo 3.0.0
Keywords: vzctl vznetcfg vztt ez
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Topic:
Updated packages for Virtuozzo 3.0.0 providing user-level tools fixes for
VE networking and package management functionality.
2. Problems description:
- Starting a VE in the wait mode takes a lot of time, if no hostname for this
VE has been specified.
- It is impossible to use the ipt_owner iptables module inside VEs.
- It is impossible to start a VE with the resolvconf package installed.
- If a physical interface is attached to a bridge where one or more VETH
interfaces are already attached, all of them will be detached from the
bridge.
- Attaching a bonding interface to a bridge leads to a network connection
failure.
- VEs based on a Debian EZ template can be unusable after the migration to
another Hardware Node, because vzpkg repair might not return a proper error
code during the migration and some VZFS magic symlinks are pointing nowhere.
- It is impossible to use EZ templates on the Nodes with vzt-3.0.0-61 installed
and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 host OS.
- It is impossible to use the SuSE 10.2 and 10.3 OS EZ templates because of no
support for BuiltinLuaScripts in the current chroot environment.
All Virtuozzo 3.0.0 users are advised to update their tools packages.
3. Affected components description:
- vzctl is the primary tool for Virtual Environment management. This tool is
used to create new VEs, start and stop them, configure their parameters, etc.
- vznetcfg is a utility used to manage Virtuozzo networks and VLANs on the
Hardware Node.
- vztt is a set of tools for managing EZ (easy) templates. This type of
templates was first introduced in Virtuozzo 3.0.0 and is supposed to be more
flexible and easy to manage than standard templates.
4. Bug fixes:
#93219 - slow VE creation
#93451 - ipt_owner mask should be added to vzctl
#83936 - VETH is dropped from the bridge after physical interface is added to
it
#92872 - broken 'br attach' of bonding interface
#78794 - broken 'vzpkg repair' for debian-based templates
#93691 - fixed mirrorlist processing on redhat-as3
