  • Plesk for Linux/Unix

SYMPTOMS

I run up2date but get the error like:
# up2date -u
.......
The package PACKAGE_NAME is not signed with a GPG signature.  Aborting...
Package PACKAGE_NAME does not have a GPG signature.
 Aborting...

CAUSE

This issue occurs if up2date is configured to check RedHat GPG signature for the packages that are going to be installed. But the packages that are issued not by OS vendor do not have such signature. This also applies to SWSoft packages.

RESOLUTION

This checking can be disabled in the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date file. Turn off the following option:

useGPG=0

After running up2date you can comment this option in order to use GPG checking.
