Article ID: 2250
Last Review: May,07 2008
APPLIES TO:
  • Virtuozzo for Windows 3.5.1 SP1
  • Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 4.0

SYMPTOMS

The following error appears regularly in Event Viewer on the node:

An I/O operation initiated by the Registry failed unrecoverably. The Registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the Registry.

CAUSE

There are two possible reasons of the problem. The first one is corrupted registry of some VE due to ntfs corruption and the second is shortage of system cache on the node.

RESOLUTION

Try increase system cache on the node, by creating the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

dword:LargeSystemCache = 1

Please create the value and reboot the node then.

To check ntfs integrity of running VEs please follow the instructions described here.

Also please read CAREFULLY this article !

Also please install Virtuozzo updates VZU35158  for 3.5.1 version or VZU400004  for 4.0 version  where system cache usage is optimized.
