APPLIES TO:
  • Virtuozzo for Windows 3.5.1 SP1
  • Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 4.0

RESOLUTION

As part of the Virtuozzo installation, the following registry key and values are set to point our servers where only approved Microsoft Updates are available:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

"WUServer"="http://vzwinupdate.sw-soft.com"
"WUStatusServer"="http://vzwinupdate.sw-soft.com"

Starting from Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 it is possible to configure VUS ( Virtuozzo Update Service which provides with the same functionality as WSUS, but for Virtuozzo updates). The following registry key and values are configured in this case:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWsoft\VZUpdates\\DefaultURL

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SWsoft\VZUpdates\\URL

Note: In Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 , all these settings could be configured through GUI as well. To do that , please run Virtuozzo Update Wizard and go to Proxy Settings.
