How to roll-back to Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac

Symptoms

I have received a complimentary 3-month license for Parallels Desktop Pro Edition but want to downgrade to Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac.

Resolution

To reinstall Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac, please:

  1. Download version 10 installation package.

  2. Double-click the downloaded Parallels Desktop 10 installation file with the .dmg extension to, then double-click the Install icon.

  3. Enter your Mac user account password to begin installation and proceed with the installation wizard.

Known Issues

  • If you upgraded your macOS to 10.13 High Sierra while testing Parallels Desktop Pro Edition you will not be able to install Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac on it.

  • If you installed any OS's that are not supported by Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac while testing Parallels Desktop Pro Edition, you will not be able to launch such virtual machines after you roll-back to version 10. The list of supported OS's in Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac: KB 122662.

  • Upon re-installation of Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac you may be prompted for your version 10 activation key. You can find your registered keys here: https://license.parallels.com/#/subscriptions/list
