- I am unable to upgrade or install Parallels Desktop as the process hangs with 'Removing Previous Version' message and never goes further.
- LaunchServices database corruption
Follow the instructions below to rebuild LaunchServices database:
Open Terminal.app on the Mac.
Paste the command below in Terminal:
sudo /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain system -domain local -domain user
Type your Mac password when required, then hit Enter.
Note: the password will not be seen at this point.
Close Terminal window and restart the Mac.
- Install/upgrade Parallels Desktop again.
