How to install Parallels Tools in Open SUSE virtual machine

Symptoms

I am unable to install Parallels Tools in Open SUSE 13.2 virtual machine.

Cause

plr-tools-lin.iso is not mounted in virtual machine or no Super User privileges assigned in Open SUSE Terminal.

Resolution

  1. Open virtual machine settings.
  2. Mount plr-tools-lin.iso as it is shown below:

    Note: If plr-tools-lin.iso is not listed, click Choose an image file.. and navigate to /Applications/Parallels Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/Tools, choose plr-tools-lin.iso and click Open.

  3. In the virtual machine run Terminal and perform su command to run a Super User mode:

  4. Open Computer and under Devices open Parallels Tools:

    alttext

  5. Drag and drop Install script file to the Terminal window and hit Return\Enter.

  6. Proceed with Parallels Tools installation.
