Managing sublicenses in a Parallels business account

APPLIES TO:
  • Parallels Desktop for Mac Business Edition
  • Parallels Mac Management 5.0
  • Parallels Remote Application Server

To manage the product sublicenses in a particular subscription, use the Subscriptions and Licenses > Corporate Subscriptions section of your company Parallels business account Web portal. If your company does not yet have a Parallels business account, see Registering a Parallels business account for details about how to create one.

To learn how to view details of a particular business subscription, see Viewing details of a subscription registered in a Parallels business account.

See the Registering a subscription in a Parallels business account article for instructions on registering your company subscription.

To split a product license into sublicenses:

  1. Open the details page of a corresponding subscription (as described in Viewing details of a subscription registered in a Parallels business account) from the Corporate Subscriptions list at https://license.parallels.com/#/business_subscriptions/list.

Note: If you don’t see a subscription to a particular Parallels business product, you need to register its license key in your Parallels business account, as described in the article Registering a subscription in a Parallels business account.

  2. Locate a product in the Products section (at the bottom of the page) and click Details

  3. To create a sublicense, click Create a Sublicense.

  4. Fill out the sublicense properties form. Specify:

    a. The sublicense name (allows you to distinguish a sublicense when it is displayed in a list)

    b. Number of licenses that must be allocated in this sublicense

    c. The type of allocation (only for Parallels Desktop for Mac Business Edition): choose between dynamic allocation (select Allow to compete for the licenses on the go) and reserved allocation (select Reserve the licenses)

Dynamic allocation enables users of a sublicense to use allocated licenses as needed. Unused licenses remain in the main license pool, which is linked to the main subscription license key, and can be distributed from there to other sublicenses.

Reserved allocation allows reserving all the allocated licenses exclusively for this particular sublicense. Non of the licenses (including unused ones) are available in the main license pool, which is linked to the main subscription license key, or in other sublicenses.

    d. The sublicense expiration date

  5. Click Create to finalize creation of the sublicense.
