How to disconnect Parallels sessions after a period of idle time

Information

The maximum idle time for a Parallels Client or RDP session is configured at the terminal server level. The maximum idle time can be set in two ways:

User Interface (Windows 2008 / Windows 2008 R2 only)

  1. Open the Windows 2008 R2 RDP host configuration service.
  2. Open the RDP-TCP properties.
  3. Go to Sessions.
  4. Set Override user settings > Idle Session Limit to appropriate time.

Group Policy Editor

  1. Open the Group Policy editor.
  2. Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Tools > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits.
  3. Apply the appropriate value to Set time limit for disconnected sessions.
