Unable to encrypt the virtual machine. An error occured:

Cause

Some of existing snapshots are broken.

Resolution

NOTE: take a full backup of your virtual machine's .pvm file before you proceed with the instruction below to be able to revert all the changes.

  1. Go to Actions > Manage Snapshots...

  2. Remove all existing snapshots.

  3. Try to encrypt once again.

In case it does not help or Snapshots Manager do not contain any information of existing snapshots, follow these steps:

  1. Locate your virtual machine in Finder.
  2. Right-click on '.pvm` file > Show Package Contents.
  3. Remove Snapshots Folder.

After that encryption should be completed sucessfully.
