How to figure out which communication mode( HTTP or HTTPS) is in use by customer's infrastructure?

APPLIES TO:
  • Parallels Mac Management

Answer

It can be checked in the logs provided by customer:

For HTTPS:

  1. At the pma_isv_proxy_config.log:

      12-05 14:58:50.723 I /CmProxyCfgUtils:6812:15e0/ CM Proxy SSL certificate: '97a73dfbacf259065d6ce96ae3456fff3a110636'

  2. Also a lot of records that contains 'PKI', for example:

       12-09 12:29:51.747 D /CmProxyCfgUtils:2960:13e4/ CM Proxy certificate: 'OU=002,CN=Parallels Configuration Manager Proxy (PKI)' (779898add0b837dd20f434a697eb5dd6471c1df5)

    12-09 12:29:51.747 I /CmProxyCfgUtils:2960:13e4/ Loaded CM Proxy certificate configuration PKI mode: 1

  3. The pma_isv_proxy_service.log will contain 'isSSL = 1':

         12-18 16:03:16.123 D /SmsMsgApi:4180:da8/ MP: hostname = 'win2012r2-001.pmm12.dom:443', isSsl = 1, certificate hash = 'be7a310b5cf178bc9f2fa6427f2e5c58b5c64349', master site code = 'T12'

For HTTP:

  1. No any records that conatins 'SSL' in pma_isv_proxy_config.log, and some records with 'PKI mode: 0' such as:

      12-15 19:34:58.458 I /CmProxyCfgUtils:5608:80c/ Loaded CM Proxy certificate configuration PKI mode: 0

  2. In pma_isv_proxy_service.log you will the parameter 'isSSL = 0':

     12-15 18:56:42.981 D /SmsMsgApi:5264:5d8/ MP: hostname = 'sccm2012.PRL.LOCAL:80', isSsl = 0, certificate hash = '55c6119372aecfae15f6395ced4cd5ed6ebf1218', master site code = 'S12'
