Unable to install Adobe Creative Cloud in Windows Virtual Machine

APPLIES TO:
  • Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac Home Edition
  • Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac Standard Edition
  • Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac Standard Edition

Symptoms

I downloaded the Adobe Creative Cloud app and tried to install the appropriate applications like Adobe PhotoShop but I always get the following error:

        "Download Error"

I already have an account for Adobe Creative Cloud and everything works fine in Mac OS X.

Cause

Required root certificates were missing.

Resolution

  1. Run Windows Virtual Machine.

  2. Open your web browser inside Windows and and download the VeriSign Root Package

  3. Unzip the folder and install all certificates in the folders G1 - G5. To do it you just need to double-click on the Security Certificate > click 'Next' a bunch of times through the Wizard, and move to the next one. Just to clarify - 13 certificates total.

  4. Restart Windows

  5. Open Adobe Creative Cloud and check the issue.

If it does not help, please do the following steps:

  1. Go to the Virtual Machine's Configuration > Security Tab > select Isolate Mac from Windows.

  2. Switch to Hardware Tab.. Change the Network 1 Type. from Shared Network. to Default adapter.
  3. Install the program again. Once it will be installed, please uncheck the option Isolate Mac from Windows.
