Information

This article will guide you through the process of uninstalling Parallels Desktop 10 from your Mac.

Note: Your virtual machines will not be affected by this procedure - only the Parallels Desktop application will be uninstalled. If you want to remove a virtual machine, please see KB 5029

  1. Shut down your virtual machine and quit Parallels Desktop

  2. Open your Applications folder and drag the Parallels Desktop icon into the Trash.

  3. Empty the Trash

  4. Reboot your Mac

NOTE: You can also download, extract and execute this utility: PDremove.zip. PDremove.app will remove Parallels Desktop (any version from 7 through 10) with all its cache and system files, except for the licensing information. Your virtual machines won’t be affected if they are stored in the usual location: ~/Users/[username]/

This utility is not signed by Apple, therefore you will need to press Control (Ctrl) key while opening the app. For more information, please see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18657.
