Cloud services sharing in Parallels Desktop 10

With Parallels Desktop 10 you can easily share you favourite Cloud services like iCloud, PhotoStream, DropBox, GoogleDrive and OneDrive between your Mac and Windows Virtual Machine without duplicating your data.

To share iCloud, PhotoStream, DropBox and Google Drive installed on your Mac with your Windows Virtual Machine:

  1. Start Parallels Desktop and launch your Windows Virtual Machine
  2. Go to your VIrtual Machine configuration:

    if you run your Virtual machine in window mode:

    click on Virtual Machine menu -> Configure

    if you run your Virtual machine in Coherence mode:

    click on Parallels icon in status bar, press Alt, then choose Configure

  3. Switch to Options tab -> Sharing. Make sure Shared Cloud option is enabled

  4. Open Windows Explorer - your Mac Cloud folders are now visible inside Windows!

To share your OneDrive installed in your Windows Virtual Machine with your Mac:

At the same Options tab -> Sharing, make sure Share OneDrive with Mac option is enabled.

OneDrive folder is now available on the Mac!


NOTE: Parallels Desktop 10 does not provide apps for Cloud services like iCloud, PhotoStream, DropBox, GoogleDrive and SkyDrive. You may want to install them separately.

NOTE: Parallels Tools should be installed in your Windows Virtual Machine to make this feature work properly. If you install your Cloud service app while your Virtual Machine is running you need to reboot your Virtual machine to make it visible in Windows.
