Cause

The user account under which you run the Configuration Manager Proxy Configuration Wizard must have a permission to write to the ProgramData Active Directory container.

Resolution

Give the user a permission to write to the ProgramData Active Directory container as follows:

  1. On the server running Active Directory, run Start > Administrative Tools > ADSI Edit.

  2. Navigate to Default naming context > DC=... > CN=Program Data.

  3. Right-click the CN=Program Data container and click Properties in the pop-up menu.

  4. Click the Security tab.

  5. Click the Add button and select the user account that you use to run the Configuration Manager Proxy Configuration Wizard.

  6. Give the user Read, Write and Create all child object permissions.

  7. Click OK to close the CN=Program Data Properties dialog.

Run the Configuration Manager Proxy Configuration Wizard again. The Next button on the Security Settings page should now be enabled.
