How to uninstall Parallels Tools in Ubuntu Linux

  • Parallels Desktop for Mac Standard Edition

Information

  1. Start your Ubuntu Linux Virtual machine
  2. Go to Virtual Machine menu -> Reinstall Parallels Tools
  3. Quit Parallels Tools installation
  4. Open Terminal and run the following command:

       sudo /media/<username>/Parallels\ Tools/install
    

    (please replace <username> with your actual username in Ubuntu Linux)

    or:

       sudo /media/Parallels\ Tools/install
    

    depending on the version of Ubuntu Linux you have

  5. Choose Remove and click Next

  6. Reboot your Virtual Machine



If the above instructions do not work for some reason:

  1. Open Terminal
  2. Run:

    sudo /usr/lib/parallels-tools/install -r
    
  3. Wait till unistallation is done and reboot your Virtual machine.
