1. What's Included in This Update
The new packages for Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0 provide user-level tool
fixes for managing virtual machines, Containers, and their backups.
2. Problem Description
The new packages contain fixes for the following issues:
- Sometimes, virtual machines might experience I/O errors, causing their
filesystem to be remounted in read-only mode. (#PSBM-15540)
- The"prlsrvctl" utility has been enhanced with a new "--backup-tmpdir"
option that allows you to specify a custom location for storing temporary
snapshots of virtual machines when creating backups. (#PSBM-14750)
- Using "prlctl auth" to authenticate a user in a virtual machine could fail
due to a missing "libDaApiWrap.so.1." (#PSBM-15747)
- Deleting a snapshot of a virtual machine could re-enable the network
adapters in the virtual machine, causing a split-brain situation.
(#PSBM-13277)
- A virtual machine could not be started after a failed backup due to a
corrupted DiskDescriptor.xml file. (#PSBM-15190)
- Under certain circumstances, a virtual machine with Windows Server 2003
could hang. (#PSBM-15025)
- Under rare conditions, enabling jumbo frames on network interfaces could
cause a kernel crash. (#PSBM-15978)
- Support for compacting GPT disks of virtual machines has been added.
(#PSBM-15936)
- Using the Transporter Agent to migrate a physical server to a virtual
machine could fail. (#PSBM-14098)
- Migrating a Container created in Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows
4.6 to a virtual machine on a server with Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0
could fail. (#PSBM-16569)
All Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0 users are advised to update their tools
packages.
