Windows 7 Virtual Machine does not start after Parallels Desktop downgrade from version 8 to 7

Symptoms

Windows 7 Virtual Machine does not start after Parallels Desktop downgrade from version 8 to version 7.

Cause

An issue may occur only on Mac without hardware EPT support (or if it is disabled via boot flag).

Workaround

Add the following line to the boot flag (Open VM Configuration ►Hardware ►Boot Order):
 
kernel.cr3cache.enable=0

 
Start the virtual machine and reinstall Parallels Tools from Virtual Machine menu Reinstall Parallels Tools.
