1. What's Included in This Update
The new packages for Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0 provide user-level tool
fixes for managing EZ templates and containers.
2. Problem Description
The new packages contain fixes for the following issues:
- Sometimes, OS templates cannot be synchronized during container
migration. (#PSBM-15060)
- It may be impossible to connect to a virtual machine created in Parallels
Server Bare Metal 5.0 via Parallels Power Panel that was opened from inside
Parallels Virtual Automation 6.0. (#PSBM-15117)
- When run in the "public ssh-keys" mode, the prlctl utility may ignore the
minimum security level of the destination server. (#PSBM-15080)
- Resizing virtual machine disks with GPT partitions is not supported.
(#PSBM-14006)
- It is impossible to start a virtual machine with Windows Server 2008 R2
after restoring it from a backup. (#PSBM-14294)
- Some IP addresses assigned to host-routed adapters in a virtual machine
might be unavailable if IPfilter is enabled on the server. (#PSBM-14241)
- Sometimes, setting a gateway with an IPv4 address for a virtual machine
can fail. (#PSBM-14191)
- It is impossible to start a virtual machine with Windows Server 2012.
(#PSBM-14143)
- Resizing a disk image where the last partition is swap can fail.
(#PSBM-14033)
- Cloning several virtual machines at the same time can fail. (#PSBM-14013)
- prl_fs_freeze is not loaded automatically in virtual machines with Fedora
17. (#PSBM-13828)
- After re-registration, a virtual machine can change its UUID.
(#PSBM-13796)
- Installing Parallels Tools in a virtual machine with the x64 version of
Fedora 17 may fail. (#PSBM-13748, #PSBM-13660)
- Installing Parallels Transport Agent in a virtual machine with Fedora 17
may fail. (#PSBM-13696)
- Starting a migrated virtual machine with the x86 version of Fedora 17
may fail. (#PSBM-13590)
- Sometimes, assigning an IPv6 address to a virtual machine may fail.
(#PSBM-13580)
- Replacing the prl_disp_service service with a new one could cause all
virtual machines on the server to be stopped. (#PSBM-13295)
All Parallels Server Bare Metal 5.0 users are advised to update their tools
packages.
3. Affected Components
- "parallels-server" (a set of binaries for managing virtual machines)
