Cannot open \\psf\home\some_file error message when trying to open some file located on Mac hard drive

Symptoms

When you are trying to open some file located on Mac hard drive using Windows application, you receive the following error message:
Windows cannot access \\psf\home\some_file

Cause

The file name or folder name where this particular file is located contain some of the following symbols:

<>:”/\|?*

Resolution

Please locate the file directory in Finder n the Mac side and check the folder and file names.

Make sure they do not contain the following  symbols:

<>:”/\|?*
