Parallels Desktop for Mac .dmg file gives error when installing

Symptoms

While trying to install Parallels Desktop for Mac application using the downloaded .dmg file, you receive the following error message:

Invalid CheckSum

Cause

This can happen in case Parallels Desktop for Mac installation .dmg file has become corrupted while downloaded.

Resolution

  1. Re-download Parallels Desktop installation file:

    Please refer to the article #112178 to download the proper Parallels Desktop for Mac installation file.

  2. Disable checksum verification:

In case the solution above did not help, please disable Checksum verification:

  • Open Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.

  • Go to Mac menu > Disk Utility > Preferences.
