Num Lock state is not saved upon virtual machine startup

APPLIES TO:
  • Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac Standard Edition
  • Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac Standard Edition
  • Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

When I shut down my virtual machine I always leave NUM LOCK enabled. Sometimes when I start the virtual machine back, NUM LOCK state is OFF, which I presume should be ON, just like I left it last time.

CAUSE

The NUM LOCK state is supposed to be saved at virtual machine shutdown, however sometimes it fails to be saved due to conditions inside Windows OS.
