How do I choose which partitions to migrate in Parallels Transporter?

  • Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac
  • Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac

In previous versions of Parallels Desktop I could choose which partitions to migrate when using Parallels Transporter utility.
But in Parallels Desktop 6 and 7 for Mac I only have an option to migrate the whole PC drive.

The above functionality has been hidden in order to make Parallels Transporter interface more user-friendly.

If you need to migrate not the whole PC disk, but only selected partitions, you may run Parallels Transporter utility in extended mode.
To do it please open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal), copy and paste the following command:

/Library/Parallels/Parallels\\ Transporter --custom-mode

Press Enter (Return).

Parallels Transporter will start in extended mode and it will be possible to choose partitions for migrating:
