1. ABOUT PARALLELS VIRTUAL AUTOMATION 4.6
Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 is an advanced and easy-to-use administration tool designed for managing groups of physical servers running Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, Parallels Server Bare Metal, and Parallels Server for Mac. With Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6, you can manage both the available physical servers and the virtual environments they host, using a standard web browser running on any platform. With Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6, you can create groups of physical servers and perform both collective and individual administration operations on these groups. Moreover, you can manage the virtual environments residing on the registered physical servers. Virtual environment management options include managing productivity and resources, system tasks and processes, configuration, and much more.
2. NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 enables you to take full advantage of the following:
- Integration with Parallels Server for Mac - Now it is possible to register Parallels Server for Mac physical servers in Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 and manage them the same way as Parallels Server Bare Metal servers.
- VNC console support for PSfM virtual machines - You can manage your virtual machines residing on PSfM physical servers via integrated Virtual Network Computing Console.
- PSfM virtual machine cloning and converting - Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 allows you to clone your virtual machines to a complete copy, to clone, or to convert the virtual machine to a template, and to store these templates on PSfM physical servers.
- Power Panel support for PSfM virtual machines - Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 supports running Power Panel on the Mac Snow Leopard operating system.
- Physical server to virtual machine migration - In Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6, you can migrate a physical server to a virtual machine residing on a PSfM or PSBM physical server.
- Backups for PSfM virtual machines - Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 allows you to create backups of PSfM virtual machines and store them on PSfM and PSBM physical servers.
- Virtual Networks for PSfM virtual machines - Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 supports setting up virtual networks for PSfM virtual machines.
- Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 support - PVA 4.6 supports installing the Management component on the Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 operating system.
- Support of Parallels Containers for Windows 4.6 - Use Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 to take full advantage of managing physical servers with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 4.6.
- Upgrade from Parallels Infrastructure Manager 4.0 to Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 - By using the Upgrade Automation tool and performing simple upgrade instructions, you can upgrade the 4.0 version of your Master and Slave physical servers to PVA version 4.6.
- Updating Parallels Virtual Automation 4.5 to the 4.6 version - Update the PVA 4.5 infrastructure to the 4.6 version by performing a standard installation procedure.
- Support of Linux RHEL 5.4 for PVA Master Server - The Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 Management component can be installed on the Linux RHEL 5.4 operating system.

6. KNOWN ISSUES
The list of limitations and workarounds for Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 are given bellow:
- Backups created with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 3.5 cannot be restored by Container ID.

- Parallels Management Console does not support searching Container backups.
- A backup created with Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Windows 3.5 cannot be restored until a Container with the same ID is deleted from the physical server.
- Parallels Management Console does not support management of scheduled tasks.
- PVA 4.6 physical servers cannot be registered in Parallels Management Console by means of SSH.
- Parallels Power Panel is unavailable for PIM 4.0 Slave physical servers registered by the PVA 4.6 Management Node.
- After installing Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6, the path variable in CLI fails to update automatically.
- Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 cannot be installed on Mac OS X Tiger.
- Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 cannot be installed on RHEL 5.5.
- During virtual machine creation, the "On host startup" settings are lost.
- The virtual machine HDD size is automatically set to 1 MB if 1024 GB is specified.
- Parallels Virtual Automation 4.6 does not support Parallels Small Business Panel 10.0.
- If the source physical server is configured to get the IP address by DHCP, the physical-to-virtual migration fails.
- A Container password cannot be restored by email.
- After upgrading from PIM 4.0 to PVA 4.6, Parallels Virtual Automation does not support migration of physical servers to Containers residing on the Parallels Virtuozzo Containers for Linux 4.0 server.
- After upgrading from PIM 4.0 to PVA 4.6, Parallels Virtual Automation does not support configuration of the maximum number of backups on a global level.
