Symptoms
You may receive the following error message when you try to install Parallels Tools:
“Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C9B3B9A1E18E} HRESULT: 0x080070057”.
Note: There are several kinds of HRESULT messages and you need to choose and apply the exact solution for the exact HRESULT you received in the error message. Component {GUID} may be different.
Look for the following:
* Message box with Error 1935 contains one of the "HRESULT: 0x080070057/ 0x800736FD/ 0x80070BC9"
* Log file C:\Winodws\Temp\parallels-tools-setup.log contains string with one of the HRESULT: 0x080070057/ 0x800736FD/ 0x80070BC9.
Resolution
1) Please click "OK" on the Parallels Tools error message. Go to C:\Windows\Temp\ and open parallels-tools-setup.log;
2) Parallels-tools-setup.log will be opened in Notepad (by default), please choose Edit -> Find to locate the HRESULT error message;
3) If you receive "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {GUID} HRESULT: 0x080070057” please try the following solution:
3.1 In Windows: Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Programs (Add/Remove programs for Windows XP);
3.2 Click on Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 (2.0, 3.5SP1), but do not uninstall;
3.3 Choose 'Repair' and wait till repair is finished.
Now, please try to install Parallels Tools once again.

4) If you receive "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {GUID} HRESULT: 0x800736FD" please try the following solution:
Note: Take a full Registry backup before modifying Windows Registry.
4.1 Please go to Start -> Run and type "services.msc" (without quotes) and hit return. In services please check if Windows Modules Installer service is started.
If not, and you receive an error "1450 Insufficient System resources" error when trying to start it, then it is the origin of the problem. Solution:
* Go to Start menu -> Run -> type "regedit" (without quotes) and hit return to start Windows registry. Find the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\RegistrySizeLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 0xFFFFFF (4294967295)
* If the key type and value are different from the example above - edit them to be the same as the example.
* Restart the virtual machine
* Open a Command Prompt as Administrator (C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe) and run SFC /SCANNOW to check the integrity of system modules.
* Install pending windows updates.
5) If you receive "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {GUID} HRESULT: 0x80070BC9" please try the following solution:
5.1 Click Ok on Parallels Tools error message;
5.2 Complete Windows Update setup;
5.3 Reboot when prompted;
5.4 After reboot wait while Windows Update completes. If Parallels Tools Agent start auto-update tools and Windows update is still active, cancel Parallels Tools Setup;
5.5 Install (update) Parallels Tools via Parallels Desktop dropdown menu -> Virtual machine -> Install Parallels Tools
