How to get to your virtual machine's configuration

This article will tell you how to access your virtual machine's configuration.

When your virtual machine is not running:

  1. Start Parallels Desktop
  2. In Parallels Desktop 10-11:

    Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac status bar and choose Control Center.

    In Parallels Desktop 9 and earlier:

    Go to the Parallels Desktop menu bar, click Window and choose Virtual Machines List.

  3. In Parallels Desktop 10-11:

    Click on the cogwheel.

    In Parallels Desktop 9 and earlier:

    Right click on your virtual machine and choose Configure.

When your virtual machine is not running but its window is present on the screen, or when your virtual machine is running in Window mode:

In Parallels Desktop 10-11:

  • Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac status bar and choose Configure under your virtual machine section.

In Parallels Desktop 9 and earlier:

  • Click on the Virtual Machine menu and choose Configure.

  • Click on the cogwheel on the bottom right corner of the virtual machine's window.

When your virtual machine is running in Coherence mode:

In Parallels Desktop 10-11:

  • Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac status bar and choose Configure.

In Parallels Desktop 9 and earlier:

  1. Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac status bar.
  2. Press the Alt key and choose Configure from the drop-down list.

When your virtual machine is running in Full Screen mode:

In Parallels Desktop 10-11:

  1. Move your cursor to the top of your screen and wait until the Mac menu bar appears.
  2. Click on the Parallels icon in the Mac status bar and choose Configure.

In Parallels Desktop 9 and earlier:

  1. Move your cursor to the top of your screen and wait until Mac menu bar appears.
  2. Click on the Virtual Machine menu and choose Configure.
