Each Parallels virtual machine operates exactly like a stand-alone computer. This means that your virtual machine will obtain the IP address directly from the DHCP server, or you can manually configure it in the same way you have configured your primary OS in order to establish Internet connectivity. If you have configured your network connection, and you still can not connect to the Internet, there is a high probability that you have two real network interfaces on your Primary OS and the network cable is plugged into only one of them. To fix the problem, make sure that Parallels Workstation connects to the interface that is connected to the network.
To do this, first power off the Parallels VM, then click the ‘Edit’ button. When the window appears, click the ‘Network adapter’ in the left pane. Select the connected interface from the drop-down menu in the right pane, under the ‘Bridged Ethernet’ radio button. When complete, save the configuration and power on the VM.
