How can you view the OS X Dock, Desktop, Apple menu, or the Windows Taskbar in a VM with Parallels Access?

Symptoms

You connected to you Mac computer with Parallels Access but you cannot see the OS X Desktop. Apple menu or the Windows Taskbar inside a VM.

Cause

Parallels Access displays a single application at a time as if it were a native iPad app. System-level items like the Apple menu, the OS X Dock, and the Windows Taskbar are not shown.

Resolution

To switch to the Desktop mode tap the Settings (Gear picture) icon in the right toolbar and tap Desktop Mode
