How do I reclaim Virtual Machine hard disk space

Symptoms

You wish to reclaim the part of unused hard disk space from the virtual machine back to Mac. 

Cause

Some hard disk space can be occupied by the virtual machine in case of expanded disk type, and later can be no longer needed. 

Resolution

In order to reclaim unused hard disk space from the virtual machine, open Virtual Machine menu Configure General Tab.

Under Reclaim... button you will find the reclaimable hard disk space. 

In order to reclaim this space, click Reclaim... and confirm.
