Customers who purchased a copy of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac or Parallels Desktop 7 Switch to Mac Edition from an authorized reseller or from Parallels directly between July 25th, 2012 and October 30th, 2012 were eligible to request an upgrade to a new version of Parallels Desktop for Mac at no additional cost, subject to certain conditions. The Parallels Tech Guarantee has ended as of October 31 for eligible purchases. Upgrade requests had to be filed via the online form by November 15, 2012.


For customers who purchased directly from Parallels at www.parallels.com

Customers who purchased a copy of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac or Parallels Desktop 7 Switch to Mac Edition from Parallels directly between July 25th, 2012 and September 4th, 2012 automatically received their no-charge upgrade keys for Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac to the email address used for purchase within 2 weeks after the new version release.


For customers who purchased Upgrade Protection

Customers who purchased a qualifying copy of Parallels Desktop 7 with Upgrade Protection directly from Parallels automatically received an upgrade key to the email that used for purchase within two weeks after the release of Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac.


For customers who purchased in Retail or with a Reseller

Customers who purchased a box product or download version (ESD) of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac or Parallels Desktop 7 Switch to Mac Edition from an authorized reseller between July 25th, 2012 and October 30th, 2012 could claim an upgrade directly with Parallels until November 15, 2012.
