Symptoms

One of the following messages is displayed during the migration attempt:

“Parallels Desktop (Parallels Transporter) has detected that Parallels Transporter Agent has a build number other than Parallels Desktop (Parallels Transporter). Please synchronize the versions and try again." 

or

"Old version of Parallels Transporter Agent is detected on the source computer. You are recommended to install the latest Parallels Transporter Agent and try again. If you click Continue, the source computer will be transferred in reduced functionality mode."

Cause

Different versions of Parallels Transporter Agent and Parallels Desktop are not fully compatible; newer versions of Parallels Desktop and may contain improvements to the migration procedure. During the migration, Parallels Desktop verifies if the Parallels Transporter Agent version is fully compatible and displays the above errors if it is not the case.

Resolution

Make Parallels Desktop and Parallels Transporter Agent versions match each other.
